•As hard seltzers disrupted the alcohol industry in Mexico, many industry players recognized the need to harmonize regulation as to ensure equal competition, establish quality standards, and create an appealing narrative to a growing consumer base.

•Our client reached out to Panorama for support in understanding what was the regulatory perspective in terms of introducing an emerging category. 

•Another key challenge was to understand what were the incentives driving other industry players as to build a common ground for pushing common challenges. ​

  • The combination of open source research and source interviews allowed us to provide the client with robust competitive intelligence reporting on a monthly basis.

  • Participated in regulatory consultations with federal authorities to understand policy design.

  • Provided a comprehensive benchmark on hard-seltzer regulation in markets such as the United States and Europe.

•In 2020, a company focused in the production of expanded polystyrene suffered a major fire that destroyed its only manufacturing facility and put to test its operational resilience. 

•Simultaneously, major clients were shifting their supply chain towards more sustainable alternatives, it was clear there was an opportunity to access new markets through positive differentiation.  

•The company reached out to Panorama for support in developing a compelling business plan and in understanding how future megatrends will reshape the packaging industry. 

Actions 

  • Provided consistent intelligence on market trends.

  • Co-designed with the client a narrative in terms of sustainability and ESG criteria.

  • Worked with leadership team to expand its current portfolio and include other materials more friendly with the environment (Expanded Polypropylene, Molded Pulp).
